Old Souls is the recipient of the 2023 Nexus Learning Award for Excellence in Real World Design. Old Souls is a seasonless, genderless, childrenswear collection for kids ages seven-twelve. Old Souls explores the fleeting nature of childhood. Demonstrating the juxtaposition between youth and maturity, the collection merges past, present, and future. Traditional American sportswear is reimagined through a youthful lens, with exaggerated silhouettes, playful details, and exciting color and surface design exploration. The collection finds inspiration in nostalgic childhood memories and fashion history, in addition to film, literature, and pop culture references. Sustainability is at the forefront of this nearly zero waste collection, employing various sustainable methods throughout the entire design process.
